Antique, encased gold-coloured crucifix on green aventurine ground over white. Possibly attributed to Belgium (?) or French Meisenthal/Lorraine (?). | |
Unusual red over white 'plaque' with painted gilt design over a deep blue/white ground. The piece is eight-sided with eight fancy cuts at the top of each facet edge. The base is slightly concave and polished to expose the white layer. Four small drill holes in base suggest that this may have been designed to sit atop an object such as a jar, for example. Unknown maker. Source suggests that this is Belgian, certainly European. Diameter 3 1/4", height 1 5/8". |
